THINGS HAVE been busy lately, and I have not posted for a little while on here, but I hope to post some more substantially before the year is out.
Normally I may be posting some shots of the North Coast in Northern Ireland, but this weekend, I’m having the privilege of some rare time in the North Coast of California.
One year ago this week, I posted vulnerably about a specific friend passing away.
(Here’s the link, if you want to have a read https://emeraldscribe21.wordpress.com/2016/11/25/remembering-jonny-hyndman-and-more/
With that in mind, and much more, the preciousness of life is apparent. Life is fragile, short, and worth the living. So it’s an enormous privilege and immense blessing to be one year on from that article, in Northern California, (even if due to previous life constricting health issues – which are still ongoing – but God weaves everything together for good ) and remembering Jonny H. here on this side of the Atlantic, 8 years on from his untimely passing. The traveller in him would be pleased.
There’s something about the North Coast that’s so good for the soul.
Even California’s North Coast – which is of course inferior to the real one back home, haha.
I could get used to the warm breeze here, though, as opposed to the artic icy cold breezes back on the beaches of County Antrim this time of year!
Today I got to dip my toes in the water, and walk in the Pacific Ocean for the first time ever. Not bad for the end of November, and 70 F or so here today at Little River Beach. God is so faithful and good to his children.
His creation is amazing, all over the world. I am so thankful for the opportunity to try a walk in a different ocean today other than the North Atlantic!
Sometimes life can throw us lemons, but it’s about taking the one step in front of us that’s there, and keeping going.
Meanwhile, check back in a couple of days for some further posts and/or pictures of this Thanksgiving weekend and beyond.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by.
This week started pretty badly, but it’s at least ended well 🙂
